Montrail Nitrus

The Nitrus has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best trail running shoes for 2025.

These shoes have great comfort and support. They would be a 5 Star shoes if it weren't for the separation of the dual density tread after < 6 miles.
After my first outing of light hiking on dirt, root and rocks I had lost nearly 30% of the tread on the left shoe, while the right shoe began to show missing tread as well.
Here's the problem. The shoe has small yellow treads that are glued onto a larger single tread. The tread will fall off creating an uneven space under the foot.
This is not acceptable for any shoe short of the dollar store. I am returning them for the better rated CD or Hardrock.
Montrail, if you can't maintain QA in China then bring production back to the States and charge $25 more for a quality product.
