Great fitting boot for my feet! The tread is terrific for a variety of surfaces such as soil/clay with the large lugs digging in and gripping with each step. Even better when scrambling over rock, they seem to find grip on wet rocks too.

Waterproofing is excellent with adequate ventilation for winter. I often had these submerged in streams and puddles with NO water penetration at all. The shank in the sole is plastic or fibre glass i think and provided sufficient stiffness and mid-foot protection to ensure that a medium weight/ medium distance hike would remain comfortable.

Great forefoot flexibility for scrambling and hill climbing and good toe protection for those tree roots and rocks.I found that walking down hill required tighter lacing towards the toes to avoid submarining into the toe cap.

The construction is very good and durable BUT, after my first overnight trip of approximately 12km's the rubber toe protection has begun to come unstuck from the shoe leather. It is only minor but I would not expect this from such a high quality boot.

Overall great but not convinced of the durability, I have re-glued the rubber and 6 months in so far so good  time will tell.
