L.L.Bean Goose Down Sleeping Bag Semi-Rectangular 35F

rated 4.0 of 5 stars

Good loft, packs small, exceeds ratings, roomy, looks good, great value!

Pros

  • Light weight
  • Packs down small
  • Very roomy and comfortable

Cons

  • Zipper can snag if not careful

This bag is a good value and excellent for backpacking down to 30 degrees, maybe lower. The EN rating says 35 degrees, but that is an average of the man's and woman's ratings (30 deg and 40 deg).  Other manufacturers would rate this as a 30 degree bag.

It is much more roomy and less confining than most "mummy" style bags. The inner material is very smooth and comfortable without being clammy. I recently used this bag in the high 30s in Yosemite and was comfortable without any additional clothes except for a tee shirt.

It packs down small. I used a 10 liter sil nylon stuff sack, but it could be fit in an 8 liter sack if necessary (it does come with a stuff sack).

I'd say this is a best buy, 650 fill goose down, lofts well, and looks good. Highly recommended!!!
