Running Skirts

The Trail Skirt from Blyss Running is a comfortable running skirt that provides both plenty of coverage and room to move on the trails. This skirt makes me happy for two major reasons—no chafing and ample pockets. Made in the USA, primarily out of recycled fabric, the Trail Skirt can easily fit my iPhone in either of the two thigh pockets or in the zippered back waist pocket (though I use that for an EpiPen). This capacity means I can go out for shorter summer runs carrying both a phone and an EpiPen without needing a waistbelt for storage (hooray!) and still have room to spare. Plus, when I return from a sweaty session I don't have any uncomfortable chafing on my legs.

Virtually all of my running bottoms are medium, and I found Blyss's medium comfortable and true to size. S (4-6): 27-28" waist / 36-38" hips M (8-10): 29-31" waist / 39-41" hips L (14-16): 32-34" waist /42-44" hips While sizing is limited for now, other Blyss skirts, shorts, and capris come in a wider range of options—XS/0-2 to XL/18-20.

Lightweight, comfortable, freedom.

I am a nature and wildlife photographer and am out in the mountains or desert at least once a week. I am in wilderness areas, national and state parks, nature preserves, etc. I enjoy the comfort and freedom of lightweight comfortable outdoor clothing. I have worn different types of running gear which are perfect for hiking, walking, driving. I wear running kilts on trails with hikers and tourists, using gas stations, stores, go to restaurants, etc. No one has noticed, stared, laughed, or commented in over three years of wearing skirts and kilts.

A quality garment suitable for multiple uses, particularly watersports. The undershorts have a permanent anti-microbial treatment that really does keep odors at bay. If already accustomed to wearing skimpy garments for workouts, the Nine Trails skirt will be a cute and welcome addition to your wardrobe. The short skirt does turn heads (since it's not always obvious that the black undershorts accompany it), so it's not for those lacking a healthy dose of self-confidence. On the other hand, it also serves as a great bikini bottom, if you don't wish to get as much sun on your nether-regions. Durable materials hold up to a wide variety of uses and abuses.

Conditions: I lead with this header because I really put this garment through its paces, finding it very versatile and durable throughout my testing. Most notably, it lived up to its claims of odor control. The garment employs a Polygiene treatment based on silver salt, according to the provided literature. I usually regard such claims very suspiciously (after all, I interned in the very EPA division that reviews and licenses such pesticide/antimicrobial claims for safety and efficacy). So I was pleasantly surprised to find, albeit anecdotally, that this new technology appears to actually work.

The North Face Eat My Dust Skirt is a great skirt for trail running or hiking! I have used it on multiple hiking trips and it has performed exceptionally well. If you are looking for a stylish, yet comfortable change from your hiking pants, you should check out this skirt!

The North Face Eat My Dust Skirt is my favorite hiking skirt. It fits very well. I would say that it is true to size. It has a stretchy waistband with a tie in the front, so you can adjust it for the perfect fit. It is very comfortable. The liner shorts are the key to this skirt. The elastic in the bottom that fits the quads actually stays in place, but is not so tight that it cuts off the circulation. They fit just tight enough to stay in place comfortably. This was my very first concern about this skirt, because I personally have an odd q-angle in my hips that makes me very susceptible to chafing.
