Bolle B-Rock

photo: Bolle B-Rock sport sunglass

The B-Rock sunglasses pair excellent optics with impact resistance. Super lightweight wraparound sunglasses. The work really well in any speed sport.

Pros

  • Crisp optics
  • Wraparound eye protection
  • Impact resistant
  • Available in perscription
  • Adjustable nose and ear pieces
  • Interchangeable lens

Cons

  • Scratchable

The Bolle B-Rock sports sunglasses work exceptionally well for any sport involving speed. The wraparound construction provides maximum eye protection while the NXT lens offers enhanced visual acuity and increased impact resistance. NXT is both lighter in weight and offers higher ABBE value than Polycarbonate lens material. The Abbe value is how clear and crisp the lens is as it bends. The lens has an anti-fog treatment on the inside of the lens and an Oleophobic treatment on the outside to repel water and oil.

I started testing the Bolle B-Rocks in August and have been using them mountain biking, skiing, and occasionally while hiking. Mainly I wear these while mountain biking as they came paired with a Bolle The One MTB cycling helmet.

Fitment takes but a few seconds to adjust the hypoallergenic nose pad and temple/earpieces. Both the nose and temple pads are made from Thermogrip which uses moisture absorbing material to help keep the frames in place. Once adjusted the glasses fit really well and at 1 1/8 ounces are so lightweight I forget that I am wearing them.

The B-Rock offers me a large field of vision and the brown tint with green flash mirrored lens keeps everything really in focus. The optics are crisp and even my periphery vision is excellent which is greatly appreciated when barreling down a single track.

Having crashed more than once while biking wearing the B-Rocks, they have proved to be impact resistant, but I have picked up a scratch or two during those incidents.

The Bolle B-Rock sunglasses are available with prescription lenses. Interchangeable lenses are offered in a variety of colors to match with different sports uses. The Bolle B-Rocks are available in a variety of frame and lens colors and cost is $189.
