Zamberlan 1110 Baltoro Lite GTX RR
Super light—Super support
Pros
- Lightweight
- Narrow last
- Very supportive
- Quality build
- Italian made
Cons
- Made for narrower, lower volume foot
I wanted to mention these because I was genuinely impressed when they arrived and I initially tried them on. It was hard to believe a boot this light could be as solid and supportive as these were. They are billed as a hunting boot but they would make excellent backpacking boots, particularly on rough terrain.
I spent quite some time walking around the house in them and loved the way they felt and how light they were on my feet. Sadly, they proved to be just a bit narrow for my foot. I don't wear a wide but do need something with a higher volume toe box and these just didn't have it.
Otherwise, the fit was fantastic. Heel was solid and arch support was great. I really like these but felt that the width would be an issue and was not confident they would stretch to the degree they would need to for me to wear them out hiking all day. I returned them for the Vioz Lux (another review).
For those who have a slightly narrow foot, I would highly recommend trying these on. You will be surprised by how solid they feel and how light they are. Many of us prefer boots and while not trail runner weight, these will impress you.
Four stars because they didn't fit me. Zamberlan doesn't offer a wide in this boot.
