Yukon Charlie's Yukon Trail Gaiter

photo: Yukon Charlie's Yukon Trail Gaiter gaiter/overboot

A solid gaiter, built with durable materials, still leaves much to offer as far as fit and feel compared with other brands.

Pros

  • Solid, waterproof material to keep snow out.

Cons

  • Not enough material to fit around snow boots and pants
  • Poor fit around the base of the boot, allowing snow to gather underneath

I was looking for a pair of gaiters for hunting in the snow and for snowshoeing this winter. I am sorry to say that I was unable to test fit these gaiters due to the way they were packaged.

I bought them because they are made of strong, waterproof material and thought they would serve me well while trekking through the snow or casual winter outdoor activity.

When I brought the gaiters home I tried them on, and while they barely would velcro across the top of the foot of my boot, in no way would they secure over my pants. It seems like the width of material was several inches too short!

I planned on returning these gaiters but decided to have my wife try them. They ended up fitting her fine and she will wear them outdoors this season.

The packaging stated that they would fit mens boot sizes 7-10. I wear a size 9 so I thought they would be right up my alley.

My wife is 4'11" and wears a size 7.5 women's boot.
