Vorn Lynx 12-20L

The Vorn Lynx is a high quality specialty backpack for hunters that enables you to carry a rifle in comfort with instant access to it when needed.

Anyone who has carried a 10lb rifle mainly on their shoulder for a day knows how uncomfortable it can get after a while. There are many different slings and contraptions to try and make carrying a rifle comfortable while giving easy access and they all work to some degree, but all require some sort of compromise and all interfere with your backpack so it's a real problem.

The Vorn backpack range—Fox, Lynx, and Deer—offer the ability to store the rifle safely protected within the pack making it extremely comfortable to carry, yet with a patented quick release system giving instant access to the rifle when required.

The Lynx has a 12/20 litre capacity depending on how it's set up, not including the rifle compartment. It has an alloy frame and is waterproof, the material is high quality, and the construction is without compromise. There are loops to attach additional gear, walking poles etc.

If you were staying out for a couple days, I would opt for the larger 42 litre Deer version, but for a days hunting the Lynx or smaller Fox is perfectly adequate. The only thing that previously stopped my buying one of these was the price. They are getting on for £300, but now having used one I wish I’d done it years ago.

Background

I’ve now used it many times as a daypack. It carries everything I need and more in complete comfort with no more sore shoulder.
