I'm new hiking and this was the first pack I purchased and as far as I could tell it looked great. The adjustability of the pack, variety of features (rain cover included, lots of pockets) and mid-range price were key to me choosing it.

However, the first time I tried to adjust the loaded pack it broke! I simply gave it a little hump up on my back to try and allign the hip-belt and heard a loud pop.

Turns out the adjustable back-strap that holds the hip-belt to the pack snapped...the strap was attached to the hip belt by a small steel cable, but the cable was rivited into an unreinforced hole in the thin fabric strap...a huge flaw on what appears to be an otherwise durable design. I did not even have the pack overloaded (less than the 30kg load the pack is rated for).

Really too bad because otherwise I love this pack and all the compartments and space it provides.
