Under Armour T-shirt

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

This lightweight shirt is an extremely versatile garment. The cotton-feel poly is soft to the touch, but durable, tough, and quick drying.

Pros

  • Holds its shape
  • Very quick drying
  • Nice fabric
  • Holds up well under tough use

Cons

  • Inner layer starting to delaminate
  • The laminate deteriorates under use with Deet
  • The product doesn't have a specific name for the piece

In my ever-constant hunt for a good bargain with tech gear, I have never found a garment that I love so much. As hard as I have used this shirt, it continues to hold its shape, even when washed by hand, wrung out, and slopped over a make shift clothes line.

I am not real keen on the knitted quick dry fabrics many tech shirts sport, so this shirt feels like spun cotton. It's very soft and comfortable. It rides very well under my pack straps, yet when I pull my pack off, my shirt is always dry by the end of lunch. The shirt never feels bunchy or tight. It moves with me. It works great to wick moisture away.

This shirt is my "go-to" piece. When it was newer, it traveled with me. I use it to layer in the winter months. I love it to bike in, since the shirt is actually long enough to pull down to my hips.  I virtually live in this shirt during long backpack trips. It also doesn't hold the "stink" of long trips. Hand washing does a good job of dealing with trip funk.

Even with all the hard use, the shirt has held up. No seams have blown, and the fabric is really just starting to get tired. It hasn't necessarily pilled, but for how hard I have used this shirt, I can't really fault the fabric. I just wish I had realized earlier that Deet was starting to delaminate the inner layer.  I would have used the Deet on my skin, and not just sprayed it on my clothes at the shoulders. Also, this shirt does not list its SPF, but after wearing it outdoors for countless hours, I have never been sunburned wearing it.

I rarely rave about a product, but without a doubt, this is my favorite tech clothing piece. It's well made design makes this virtually the perfect action shirt.  I wish I could find 10 just like it!

I am including the only reference numbers I could find: RN 96510 and CA 41095
