Surprisingly breathable, durable, water resistant jacket.
Have had this piece for a season now and I am thoroughly impressed. It is much more breathable and water resistant than expected. Even held off water in the shower test (other than the seams, which for weight are not sealed) to a surprisingly high degree.
It is fairly wind resistant, but not to the extent I thought it might be. Have felt wind when above 20 mph. Not bad, but not its strongest suit. It does make up for it though in how breathable it has proven through hard sweat soaked rides.
Of course the ultra light packability is really amazing. The hood is a nice plus for a variety of conditions. Pertex material has proven to be much more durable than it appears.
One weakness is the ease of the zipper. Have fought with it until being right handed, I realized I had to anchor it with my left hand on the right side, to get it to zip. All zippers I've ever used are anchored on the lower left. A very annoying quirk.
Overall though, I would give this a solid 8+ for its intended design intent. An excellent super light jacket!
