The North Face Storm Mid WP
Best boot for those with Haglund's.
Pros
- No break-in
- Excellent sole
- Super comfy all day
Cons
- None for me
I have a hard time finding comfortable boots because I have Haglund's deformity (pump bump). Nowadays every pair of hiking boots has a hard heel area.
The NF Storms have a soft and well padded heel area. I tried on every boot I could find at multiple stores and this was the only one that was not going to irritate the bump on the back of my foot. Also, they are very comfortable right out of the box. No break-in period at all.
They do run very small. I usually order a size 12 (I'm actually a 11-11.5), I went with a 13 on these and they are perfect. I LOVE THESE BOOTS!!!! Thank you, North Face!!!

These boots look great. Are instantly comfortable and feel well padded. They run a good size small though.
Pros
- Comfortable fit
- Aggressive sole
- Waterproof
Cons
- Run small
I just received these directly from The North Face. I tried on a pair in the store, size 13. They felt great, very cushioned, however way too tight. I wear 12 in dress shoes. I had to order a 14 which fit just right. Good quality looking construction. Have not had them on the trail.
