The North Face Blaze Jacket
The puffy jacket far exceeded my expectations. It packs down small into its own pocket, is very lightweight, and is warm. Great for around town, hiking, or backpacking. Highly recommend this jacket.
Pros
- Warm
- Packs down small into its own pocket
- Lightweight
- Wicks moisture away from body
- Water repellent
- Quick dry
Cons
- Elastic cuffs
- Somewhat delicate fabric
I have used this jacket in snow, as a warm layer under a hard shell jacket, and in chilly to cold conditions while hiking or just at rest with excellent results. After a winter's worth of use the jacket shows no wear and remains my favorite cold weather layer.
Comfortable fitting puffy jacket that will keep you warm. Very lightweight and packable, can be stored in its own pocket. Sleeves end in an elastic cuff, would have preferred a velcro closure for adjustability.
Though not meant for the rain, it does repel water during misty conditions. Breathable construction allows moisture to be wicked away from the body and quickly dry. Both of these characteristics result in consistent warmth without any dampness.
The fabric seems somewhat delicate, I would not subject it to abrasion other than normal wear. Jacket overall is constructed and sewn well.
You get a lot of bang for your buck and a lot of value for the weight with this jacket. I highly recommend it for casual use, hiking, camping and backpacking.
