Solo Stove Campfire

rated 5.0 of 5 stars
photo: Solo Stove Campfire wood stove

Used this on a backpacking trip in Hells Canyon with the scout troop. It performed excellent. Boiled water quickly and provided a nice fire for roasting marshmallows and cooking meals using wood and other biomass so no fuel was necessary to pack in. Also lightweight.

Pros

  • Lightweight and effective heat source

Cons

  • None

Loved this as an alternative to other backpacking stoves.

Background

We've used canister stoves and other pack stoves which require carrying fuel and empty canisters out. Nice alternative.
