Sierra Designs Studio 2
The Studio 2 from Sierra Designs is a one-door, one-vestibule, semi-freestanding, three-season tent that promises maximum livable space at an ultralight weight (2 lbs 11 oz / 1.22 kg minimum).
“We designed the Studio differently than other fin-style tents, because we weren’t willing to sacrifice comfort to save a few ounces,” says Casey Sumnicht, equipment product manager for Sierra Designs.
The Studio 2 features 28.1 square feet of livable space, thanks to a short ridge pole at the center and footbox, a custom DAC Featherlite Aluminum hub with 160-degree angle and 7-degree tilt, and a nearly vertical front wall with a peak height of 40 inches.
A full coverage vestibule at the front provides 9 square feet of room for your gear, as well as room to get in and out easily. Triangulated guyout loops on the side help with venting and to prevent wind flap.
If you’re looking for a little more room, the Studio 3 has 38.8 square feet of floor area and 42 inches of peak height at a minimum weight of 3 lbs 8 oz.
