Salomon XT Wings 2
I've owned these for almost 4 years and like every other Salomon product I've purchased, these have performed very well for a lengthy period of time.

Most of training is on the north-eastern side of Mt. Diablo near Clayton, California. It's 1.5 miles from my home to the trailhead, so, I run on sidewalks as well. In all terrain, this is a comfortable shoe.
Diablo has many trails that have loose dirt and rocks as well as more technical sections with rock gardens, gullies and stairs. In all cases, the shoes gripped well, in hot weather, in the rain and once or twice a year, the snow.

A truly awesome shoe. Had mine for about 3 weeks now and done over 100km in them. From the 1st run I have enjoyed them. I have tried them over various terrain namely, grassland, coastal forest, rocky ridges, mud, soft sand, you name it I have tried to put them through it. They do not dissapoint.
I have however found that on extremely long gravel roads they do feel a bit firm, but then again these shoes are designed to get you off the road in the first place. Ran in a heavy rain one night and they did not feel heavy when soaked wet. They handle steep technical sections very well and you can fly down the steepest gradients confident that the shoe will remain where you put it down.
In short I would say, Go get a pair and try them for yourself.
