Salomon XT Twin Belt

rated 2.5 of 5 stars
photo: Salomon XT Twin Belt hydration/fuel belt

in my opinion, this pack is more suitable for hiking than running.

Pros

  • Holds 40 oz. of liquid
  • Holds two water bottles
  • A lot of storage space
  • Adjustable
  • Has an extra removable storage pouch

Cons

  • Loud when running
  • Hits off my elbows with every stride; have to change my form
  • Too much liquid/weight for shorter distance races

The first time I ran with the Salomon XT Twin belt on I had to alter my arm swing because my elbows kept hitting off the pack due to the bottles being placed on an angle. I am not sure if my short stature (I am 5'4") and small hip width had anything to do with it.

My fiancé tried it on and didn't experience the same problem, so I would imagine the design of the pack is geared toward men. I even think I could get used to the sloshing bottles if it were more comfortable on me.

Unfortunately, this pack is sitting in my closet waiting to be swapped for something that is more conducive to my body structure, though I may consider using it on hikes and other trips where running is not involved.
