photo: RTIC 18oz Bottle water bottle

This bottle, made by rticcoolers.com has been a Eureka! find for me. Finally, an insulated bottle that keeps my iced coffee cold for 24 hours, and keeps my hot coffee HOT for more than 6 hours! This is an economy priced bottle, that has proven to exceed my expectations, and has become my go-to bottle to take beverages with me on my day paddling adventures.

Pros

  • Keeps coffee hot for 7 hours!
  • Keeps cold beverages iced and cold for 24 hours!
  • Economically priced
  • Durable and easy to use

Cons

  • Does not have a drinking valve

This bottle was given to me as part of a prize package from the blog Happily Ever Outdoors. I admit, I was unfamiliar with the RTIC cooler brand, but it is a very nice looking matte black bottle, made of 18/8 strong stainless steel, and holds a good 18 oz. of liquid; I thought perhaps it might supplement the less than ideal Hydroflask bottle I have (previously reviewed on this site).

This bottle is double walled vacuum insulated...similar to the Hydroflask, and it also kept iced beverages cold, with ice present, for 24+ hours. This ability to hold ice was not the real challenge for the bottle, though.

The RTOC bottle claims to keep beverages HOT for 6 hours. Yeah, I've heard that one before! When I paddle out at 0600, bringing my coffee and muffin along in the canoe, I want my coffee to stay hot for the whole morning. This bottle, at half the price of better known brands, actually does that. I have opened it up to drink on multiple occasions in a 7-hour period..and the coffee is still hot at the 7-hour mark. I find that amazing!

This bottle does not have a sipping valve, so tipping it up (8" tall) with a hot beverage requires some care. It is not dishwasher safe, but it cleans up very easily with hand washing. The outside of the bottle does not sweat, so other gear and cup holders don't get wet.

This version, the black matte, has a nice wide handle on top of the cap, easy to grasp...helpful, since the tight seal holds the cap on snugly. A sports lid top is available separately.

RTIC has a slogan of  "Half the price and keeps the ice," but it also keeps the heat. I strongly recommend this bottle, as it works better than any thermos or insulated bottle I have tried in the past few years. My research indicates that RTIC makes other bottles and coolers of various sizes, configurations, and colors. I think I may have to check out some of those too.

Does what it’s supposed to do and very handy for toting around.

Pros

  • Great for keeping things cold or hot
  • Much, much more affordable than its competitors

Cons

  • Haven’t found anything bad about it.

Would highly recommend to anyone not wanting to spend a ridiculous price on this type of product! Rtic IS just as good or better than their competitors.

Background

I own many Rtic coolers. They all outperform better than I imagined! Will never waste my money on those overpriced ones again!
