Rottefella NNN BC Manual

Excellent off-trail xcountry binding.

This setup is much more efficient at classic kick and glide than a 75mm binding. I would not choose the automatic binding if you plan on truly skiing off-trail. The auto bindings will ice up off-trail. The auto NNNBC bindings are probably fine for skiing on broken trails; such as snowmobile trails.
I would recommend sizing up to the NNNBC Magnum binding, if your ski has a wide enough waist. The NNNBC Magnum will give you that much more stability; but it is a waste if your skis are not wide enough.
