REI Recycled Camp Mug
Good for the office if you have size small hands.
Pros
- Sturdy
- Recycled
- Smallish
Cons
- Heavy
- Unstable
- Awkward Handle
The Good:
I bought this product in the 12 ounce version to keep coffee warm and for a little spill prevention. It's a little smaller than the freebie 20 oz coffee cups I use normally, and sturdier. I'm sure it would last forever. In comparison to a 650ml titanium or aluminum mug, it keeps the liquid warm longer and has a lid to keep floaties out.
The Bad:
When filled it tends to tip over more easily than a 650ml mug, and without a closing mechanism there was nothing to stop the 12 ounces of liquid from flowing out pretty quickly. At 6 ounces it's heavier than the 20 oz freebie coffee mugs that have lids you can close, pictured they weigh in at 4 oz, and I didn't notice any better thermal qualities.
The Ugly:
The handle is oddly shaped. When compared to the freebie mugs it appears to be about the same size, but the angle gives less hand room and the thickness of the handle forced me to drink gingerly. I just barely wear a large size glove, and this is a three finger handle without gloves, a two finger handle with. It was awkward to use.
I've only used it on one overnight trip but I don't think it will make it into the pack again. It does look much better than the freebies, though.
