Patagonia Insulated Better Sweater Hoody
Comfortable and warm; great for chilly fall or spring evenings.
Pros
- Comfortable
- Very warm
- Windproof
- Casual coloring styles
Cons
- Heavy
- Not packable
- No way to tighten the hood
Overall, I am very impressed with the jacket which is best for cruising around town, going for evening walks, or hanging around the campfire. It combines the features of Patagonia's Nano Puff and Better Sweater together into a package that is extremely warn and comfortable.
I would say the weaknesses are more towards using the jacket for which it is not most suitable. For example, the jacket is not made for backpacking or for other trips where space and weight are a concern. I have taken it with me on a couple of overnight trips, but temps did not dip low enough to really test the jacket's attributes.
It will pack small enough to fit under the lid of my 40L High Sierra pack, but at almost 2 lbs, it is not the most efficient jacket.
Patagonia has discontinued the jacket, but you may be able to find it for 40-60% off original price online or in Patagonia outlet stores.
All-in-all, a very warm, comfortable casual jacket for almost every day use.
