Patagonia Crosstrek Hoody
Patagonia R1 that's warmer, stretchier, and more durable. What's not to like?
Pros
- Stretchy
- Warm
- Durable
- Zipper hand warmer pockets
Cons
- Slightly heavy
- No drawcord hem
This midlayer covers the exact temp range I was looking for, about 35-50 degrees with a baselayer on. I really like it, because it's Polartec Power Stretch Pro. It's actually very similar to the Houdini Power Houdini, only difference being the Houdini has the drawcord hem and hood, but the Patagonia hood fits PERFECT like always, so that's not an issue. It actually saves weight. A drawcord hem would be nice, but it would also be somewhat of a hazard getting caught on things like an ice axe or harness.
It does have a regular fit so I would size down if you want it to fit like an R1. This is similar to my R1 but this is warmer, has zipper handwarmer pockets, and blocks the wind way better and is more durable. Those are the reasons I like this midlayer, it's good all the great features the R1 has but its warmer, stretchier and more durable. As soon as I put it on I haven't stopped wearing it, and I bought another color! Ha ha
