Ozark Trail Elevated Air Bed - Twin Size

rated 1.5 of 5 stars

I was very surprised at the bad reviews. I just bought the Ozark twin trail mattress with hand pump from Walmart. Great price and a great hand pump.

Pros

  • none as of yet

Cons

  • none as of yet

You see the mattress for me was a bonus.

I have an inflatable boat and bought this just for the pump.

When my other hand pump got stolen I  bought the 4d Coleman pump but the 4d pump did not have the power needed to blow my boat up.

The only option I had left was to return the 4d pump and  buy this mattress and pump combo since they had no other pumps that would work so the mattress and pump was cheaper then the Coleman 4d pump so I even got money back.

Since I sleep on a couch most of the time, I decided I may as well try the mattress out. I fully expected to wake up on the floor as other air mattress have done to me before but to my surprise, I woke up to the air mattress still fully inflated and still as comfortable as when I went to bed.

I have nothing but good things to say at this time but I have only used it once and will try it out again tonight. I then was cruising for reviews and found all these bad reviews and I was to say the least shocked since my mattress stayed fully inflated.

If I am able to I will update this review if or when something goes wrong.I will add how long it lasted etc.If I am not able to update this review I will do another when or if I have to change and say I am unhappy with it or if it breaks after a couple nights etc.

I am handicapped and it is very difficult for me to get around. I haven't had any money coming in for the past two years so I have to watch every penny I spend. I have to sleep on an air mattress due to the very severe pain I have when I lay down or I am sleeping.

Wal-Mart is right down the street from my house and they did carry the Ozark Trail Raised Twin XL Air Bed. I went thru at least 10 to 15 of the Ozark Trail air mattresses in the past two years. Wal-Mart changed their return policy on these air beds and finally stopped carrying this Ozark Trail brand.

The only good thing I can say about this Ozark Trail model is it was the only one I've found that didn't bother me when I laid own on it. This model was so bad otherwise. You never knew when you woke up if you were on the floor or not, or if the mattress was going to be as big as a balloon.

I hate to admit this, but I would buy more than one at the same time, knowing it wouldn't last the 30 day return policy, and if it lasted I would return it 25-28 days after I bought it. But it was not keeping air in it, having to put air in every day.

It took me a while before I figured this out, and I do feel bad about it, but this Ozark Trail model is the worst air something-or-other I've ever seen. You can't really call it an air bed, and as far as that goes you really can't call it an air floatation device.

My advice is, if you do buy an air bed, buy it from a company that has a 100% guarantee. They are out there.

Price Paid: 30 to 40 dollars, pending on the time of year.

I'm a Soldier in the US Army and recently got sent down to Haiti to assist with relief efforts. So, I went to the store to purchase an air mattress knowing the havoc that cots wreak on my aging body. I got my tent set up and inflated the air mattress to the firmness desired. It was pretty soft in the morning...as expected.

Put a bit more air in it by mouth and left for the workday. Came back to an almost flat mattress. Pulled the fitted sheet off to inspect it and there was a nice tear up where you put the "pillow bump" portion at the seam. Took out the repair kit and repaired as instructed and let it sit a good 18 hours or more with no air to allow drying...slept on the cot. Then, I reinflated the mattress only to have the tear grow even larger..repaired...dried...inflated...ripped some more...I'M DONE WITH IT!! Went through the entire repair kit that comes along with it on a new mattress!!

Me and my husband have been sleeping on air mattresses for years. We started out using Coleman, when Walmart switched from Coleman to Ozark Trail is when we really started noticing how inferior the product was.

We both have bad backs and these mattresses really seemed to be the "fix". We went from having to replace maybe once a year to every 3to 4 months. Now in the past year "since they have changed their exchange policy" we have had to replace no less than 3 times in a month.

If you are lucky enough to come in under 13 days they will exchange, seems like my last few lasted about 16 days. "How about that". This product has not only gotten worse as far as workmanship it has also steadily gotten smaller, not just a little a pretty good bit. VERY NOTICAEBLE. I would not recommend this product for ANY reason, It is a RIPOFF!!!

I bought the Ozark Twin Elevated Air Bed.....three or four years ago. I have slept on it, my grandchildren have jumped on it, all five at the same time, none of us are what you would call lightweight either and it has been one of the best things I have ever bought from Walmart, at 31 dollars.

I am trying to find another because we have need of more than one now......and I can't find one anywhere!!!!!!  I don't understand all the bad reviews. I have had ours up now for over three months for my teen granddaughter who had been coming to our house for volleyball tournaments and we have had to inflate it a little bit once.

Wow........  I don't know what to say about all the people who have had bad luck, I know we haven't and it's taken a lot of abuse.

These beds are not tested. They are useless and that is being kind. What I would like to know is who is in charge of Quality Control there or if there is such a unit?

Holes appear for absolutely no reason. The product is no more reliable then a water toy. For any company to advertise this product with the word "bed" associated with it is a deceitful crime. This is my second one in less then 2 years to have the same identical issues. Once I could understand, twice is once too often and forces me to write this note.

Hopefully others will read it and understand "Do not waste your money on this product, it is nothing but cheaply made garbage and totally unreliable"....

I purchased the Ozark inflatable cot and I loved the idea until after the first night we needed to use it. The mattress went flat and I could not replace it. It is not the average twin size and seems to not be available in any Walmart or any other store to replace.

Needless to say I now own something of no use. I would really like to give this product an honest chance since it is what I really need. If there is any ideas on how to purchase this mattress that will fit this twin size cot I would like to know.

Pros

  • None

Cons

  • Junk garbage

This is the worst piece of garbage I have ever owned. Get ready to take it back. It lasts about 3 to 6 weeks, sleeping on a floor not outside. Staying at my sister's longer than I thought I would be there. Should have bought a real mattress and just thrown it on the floor.

This airbed SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! of course is made in china. This is my second one and is useless. They both have had the same problem. Big bumps either at the pillow area or in the middle. Seems like you are riding a camel MADE IN CHINA. Walmart won't take it back after one week. There is no warranty information anywhere. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ANY OTHER PRODUCT FROM OZARK TRAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have had the bed for over a year with no problems except that my grandchildren pulled off the plug and we can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where to purchase a replacement plug? Can't find a web site that offers any. The Ozark Trail twin bed I have is made by Intex and they can't help me either!!

I have had to buy 2 of these so-called beds in the last year. Now the second one has the same problem that the first one had. A hole in the ridge just below the pillow.

I wouldn't have bought the second one if WalMart had let me exchange it for another one. I will not buy another one.

Used very often for camping with the family.

Pros

  • Very tough

Cons

  • Hard to find replacement air filler plugs

Very tough for ground, but wish the air filler plugs were permanently attached to bed as replacements are hard to find.

We bought it at Walmart. The grandchildren sleep on it 4 times the bed started leaking air. I found out that the air plug is where the air leaks out. I was hoping to get a new plug, it doesn't sound like that is going to be possible.

Can't the better business do something to help us out?

I bought one of these air beds and when I took it out of the box I found 11 + holes that was made from there machines. I went to return it to walmart where I bought it and they refused to let me return it.... this bed was not worth anything when we found all the holes.

Price Paid: $45

These people should be shot for selling this twin air mattress with frame. It did not last one day before the straps tore. Very uncomfortable and cheaply built. Last time I ever buy anything from this company.

p.s. I almost forgot, made in China that's why.
