Pros
- Weight
- Burn time
- Light intensity
- Water resistant
Cons
- C cell Batteries
I recently purchased an Ozark Trail 500L LED handheld spotlight/Q beam for a 100-mile paddle across the Wilderness Waterway at Everglades National Park. I was extremely impressed with the overall performance of this product.
I utilized this spotlight to illuminate the waterway markers, which assist paddlers in navigating through the Wilderness Waterway, while transitioning from one location to the next at 3AM. In addition, I frequently illuminated the points of mangrove islands and spits of land as to not surprise any alligators which like to lie at these locations.
The overall beam intensity was perfect for lighting up markers roughly a quarter of a mile away. The weight of the product allows for repeated lifting and use. The product utilizes 3 C cell batteries, which allows for an extremely long burn time given the product's LED light.
In addition, the product appears to be watertight. No water intrusion was detected given repeated exposure to salt water.
