Ozark Trail 3-Piece Cook Set
An inexpensive, large, stainless steel cook pot set ideal for Bushcrafters.
Pros
- 2 qt and 1.44 qt nesting cookpots
- All stainless for fire top cooking
- Lid fits both pots
- Price!
Cons
- Heavy for distance packers
- Only one lid
- Have to force the handles together for easier handling
In my small town, we are limited to Walmart and one other store for camping supplies. Mostly it is junk, but once in a while something catches my eye. This product was just loaded on the shelf and hasn't even hit Walmart's website yet.
This cook kit comes with a stainless 2 qt pot, stainless 1.44 qt pot and a universal lid. The best part is the $9.88 price.
There isn't much to say about a SS cookpot. It holds water, takes high heat well and is fairly easy to clean. The handle on the lid folds flat and stays cool when used with an alcohol stove.
I placed a GSI cup next to these pots for size reference. The spot welds that hold the handles all look well made so I don't expect them to ever fall off.
The handles hit each other, but with a little force they can be nested together for easier handling.
The numbers read:
- Lid 2.75 oz
- Small pot 8.75 oz
- Large pot 10.4 oz
If you are into large stainless pots, this is worth every penny.

This is an excellent set for two campers (or solo if you take the smaller pot). The quality is a smidgen below that of Stanley, but the price is amazing—$10 for two pots and lid.
Pros
- Affordable
- Heavy duty
- Stainless steel
- Sized for twosome with two pots
Cons
- Heavy, not good for backpacking
This is a great set for car camping. The pots and lid are study and well-made. Quality-wise, it may be a bit less than Stanley or GSI but at $10 for the set, it is well worth it.
If I can change anything, I would recommend that Ozark Trail get rid of the plastic coating on the handles. This would allow the pots to be used on an open fire without fear of the plastic coating melting away. Also, it would be so great if Ozark Trail could include a colander to drain pasta/noodles. Lastly, the handle to the lid is a bit flimsy so it would be nice to have a more burly handle.
Overall, it's a steal for $10.
