Smith’s Pocket Pal Knife Sharpener
This sharpener is fantastic for the price. It offers three different options to sharpen your blade on the go.
Pros
- Very light
- Compact
- Each sharpener works.
Cons
- It’s difficult to handle when in use because of small size.
This sharpener is incredible. It’s very light and compact. At first I was concerned about the quality of this product because the plastic that it’s made from seemed cheap, but it has held together quite well.
It offers a ceramic and carbide sharpening option (pictured above), and also has a rod you can use to sharpen serrations. There is a slot on the tool carved out for your thumb while you’re holding and using the sharpener. It’s all right. The tool is so small that it takes a fat minute to find a comfortable grip.
Each sharpener on the tool works great. You’re not going to get the world's greatest edge, but you’ll get a satisfying edge that you can use for your remaining time in the field. I used this on my OKC Rat 2. The blade actually got a small chip in it while I was camping. I used this sharpener to get that chip out so that I had a good edge for the rest of my week-long camping trip. It took me about 10 minutes to get a decent edge on it again.
I recommend purchasing this little guy if you’re looking for a cheap field sharpener. It’s a good one.
