NRS Boaters Gloves

Great blister and sun protection, but the palms "pill" quickly.

Pros

  • Blister protection
  • Sun protection
  • Fit nicely

Cons

  • Palm material could be better
  • I wish the palms weren't white—show dirt easily
  • Don't dry quickly

I like these fingerless gloves a lot, but I'm not sure I will buy another pair when these wear out. They do keep my hands from getting blistered, and the fingerless design allows for good digital dexterity. However, I don't like that the material on the palms is white—after one use they looked pretty grubby, and the suede was "pilling" (like a sweater).

On hot days, it is nice to wear these because you can dip your hands in the water and the fabric retains it so it keeps you cool. Transversely, that same quality is not so great when you'd rather be warm and dry!

I would recommend them if blisters are a big problem for you. They are better in hot weather than cold.

A boaters glove that dries very slowly and falls apart when wet.

Pros

  • Cheap

Cons

  • They take forever to dry, longer than overnight
  • The palm material thins out and falls apart

As an occasional kayaker I would hope a boaters glove would hold up for more than one season. The palm material is thin and got even thinner with use. It is now falling apart.

They take a long time to dry. I have bicycle gloves that dry faster.

For paddling in the warmer months, these gloves are the ticket to blister prevention and sun protection.

I like the fingerless design, as I use these while kayak fishing, and the design allows full dexterity to tie knots and other tasks. I like dipping my hands in the water with the gloves on to cool off a bit too.

The "snot patch" is helpful too.

I have used them for about 4 paddles and I like them a lot.

Now I don't paddle without them.

I highly recommend.

Thanks.
