Northwest Territory 14' x 14' Comfort Cabin 2

rated 3.5 of 5 stars

The 14' x 14' Comfort Cabin 2 has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best tents and shelters for 2024.

I bought the tent one year ago at Kmart and had not had the chance to use it until this past July 4th weekend. The tent was great—I had my daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. But one day it rained really hard and the 14-ft. pole on the side that attaches to the shower completely bent in the middle. Then one whole side of the tent collapsed which pulled the rain cover off kilter and water poured in. Everything got soaked while we were trying to get our effects out. We had to go home and come back the next day to get everything else. It was a good thing we were camping with family.

Up until then it was great. It was the coolest tent as far as the heat went. Out of everyone’s tent ours was not really hot. It stayed pretty comfortable. I would really like to see about getting a replacement pole for that one side as soon a possible. Please let me know where I have to go to find one.

We bought this tent about 4 years ago. We use it for family camping and with our church youth group. We have taken it to the coast and camped on the beach with it. There is plenty of room and it is fairly easy to put up after the first time. We did have problems with one of the side roof poles bending. So anyone buying this tent, be careful when attaching the rainfly. That is when the pole bent. I have instructions and the number to call for replacement parts if anyone contacts me I can scan them in and email them.

We lived in our tent for six months changing sites every two weeks. True, the zippers eventually wore out. But we never had a problem with weather, which we had our share of. My girlfriend who had never really camped before then could set up this monster by herself. It wasnt the easiest tent in the world to set up alone, but very doable. Probaly not a good tent for beginners. We eventually had to do away with it because mainly, the zippers gave out on us. But we would buy this tent again in a heartbeat...

We love the tent, but are looking for the address to order parts. We were in the process of taking it down at home, when we had to leave for a while. We did not have it staked out and a storm came up. We need the corner pieces.

This tent gets a lot of use as we camp with the Boy Scouts, and first my son then my grandson are with a very active troop. Have been searching for the maker's web site.

Sleeps: 6+
Ease of Setup: One person can do it, but much easier with two.

Had this tent for 5 years, enjoyed it every time I used it. Real neat to look at too! It is always the talk of the campground, I call it ice station zebra.

Had one instance of water puddling on top from a good storm, but I kept a good eye on it and it pulled thru with with flying colors. If you want to be a pro-camper you have to be able to take the good with the bad. (no whiners allowed.)
