Horrible coat! I would strongly advice anyone not to buy this jacket. The fabric is too flimsy, it has no body to it. Its waterproofing abilities are horrible. Yes, the polyurathane film is waterproof, but the DWR came off in one downpoor. I tried to revitilize the jaket with Nikwax Tech wash and Nikwax TX-Direct Spray-on. Even that couldn't help it. Nikwax is a excelent product but I don't think it was made to rise the dead!
And to think I returned a Lowe Alpine MFS Tech Jacket because it was expensive compared to the Nautica jacket. It goes to show that quality is worth a little more most of the time. I hope to upgrade to ethier a Patagonia or a Lowe Alpine jacket. Please e-mail me with any suggestions. Do not buy this coat.

Purchased the Nautica Competition Nautex yellow jacket for over $180 on sale — LISTED AS 400!!!. It was my favorite one until it was time to wash it.
The polyurethane (?) yellow underlay separated from the clear top membrane. IT LOOKS HORRIBLE! The jacket is ruined — no way I can show up in the marina with that piece of CHEAP garment.
My advice — buy something more durable, if you have a sailboat. There is no other way to wash it in many places than in WATER. And that will delaminate the layers.
I am VERY dissatisfied with the Nautica quality.

Great jacket!! Been using it for six months, absolutely no leaks or defects, and has lasted at least 12 inches on rain (8 inches in one day!), and no signs of giving up! It's tad heavier than some jackets, but it's really warm. Haven't skiied in it yet, but it hasn't let me down yet. I bought it for $170, but I'd definitely buy it for $250 if I had to.

La compre hace un par de meses, y no es muy impermeable. Quizás fue por el roce en los hombros provocado por la mochila. - Se supone que es impermeable!!

I bought it two months ago, and it is not very waterproof. Perhaps it was the rubbing in shoulders caused by the knapsack. - One assumes that it is waterproof!!
