Mountain Laurel Designs Pack Pocket

I picked up a pair of Mountain Laurel Designs' add-on hip pockets in size medium to add to my North Face Prophet 45 pack since that pack doesn't have hip pockets.

The MLD pouches seem well stitched and light. They attach to the hip belt with a pair elastic bands. MLD also included some clips to keep the pouches in place though I have not used them.

I hate carrying anything in my pockets and these add-on pouches are exactly what the doctor ordered.

One note though - while the material may or may not be waterproof, the zipper placement and lack of a zipper flap will not keep water out. Don't put anything sensitive to water in there.

That said, I think these add-on hip pocket pouches are a terrific addition to any pack that does not come with them.
