Mountain Hardwear StretchDown RS Jacket
The Mountain Hardware StretchDown RS jacket is designed to make the down jacket more of an “on the go” piece. Most down jackets sandwich the insulation between two layers of fabric (usually nylon), and them stitch them together. The problem is that both the stitching, and the nylon, are inherently static. Where MH hopes to solve that is by using an innovative welding process, instead of the more common stitching of the baffles, which claims to “supercharge durability and heat-retention.” By utilizing less stitching there is less places for heat to bleed through the jacket and thus, increase warmth. The light weight 15D Ghost Lite Ripstop exterior (which adds a little more weather resistance over the non-RS version) is paired with a Dynamic Stretch Knit lining designed to increase mobility.
Available in both a mens and women, hooded and non-hooded the StretchDown RS is packed with water resistant 750 fill Q.Shield Down, two hand warmer pockets and a high collar to seal out drafts.
