Mountain Hardwear Glacier

The Glacier has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best three-season tents for 2025.
I have mixed feeling about this tent. On one hand, it is super easy to set-up, spacious (both inside and vestibule), has many useful features, and looks great (if you care). On the other hand, the nearly vertical walls do not shed wind well. The quality is also desired to be better: the ripstop nylon around the entrance zipper was not sewn-in very well and we kept on finding nylon fibers all over the place.
My overall comment: it is a good tent NOT made for high-wind exposure.

I hate this tent. The poor design causes the fly to touch the tent easily, letting water in whenever it rains. Also there is a kind of flat spot on the roof where water can pool up. Basically if it rains, you're getting wet. I camped on top of a bald last weekend in windy conditions and one of the poles bent. Even at the sale price, this tent sucks. Am trying to return it.

What a GREAT tent!!!! VERY easy to set-up and very stable after setting it up, even without stakes. Near vertical sidewalls make it seem incredibly spacious along with plenty of mesh sky-panels and a really nifty skylight and UVX window on the fly. GREAT LOOKING tent too! Pity that MH discontinued it, and its larger brother, the Yellowstone. Grab one if you can find it!

The Glacier is very easy to set up. It has lots of headroom thanks to its near vertical walls. Great tent!

Hey guys, I have this tent and love it but my little brother took my poles instead of his and broke them. Gotta love high schoolers. . . So my question is does anyone have an extra set or want to sell me theirs? OR would someone mind taking a second to email me the lengths of the poles so I can have a set made. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I miss my tent!!!
