Montrail Rockridge

These shoes are strong, comfy, versatile, with a sweet price.

I've been wearing these shoes for a couple years. The first time I tried them it was on John Muir Trail in summer, a 200 miles hike. I didn't have enough time to break them in, but i had no blisters or anything for the whole trip.

I didn't slipped on anything for the entire trip, either. The soles are with very good traction. The soles are strong too. I have 2 retired pairs now. Both of them were done after about 500 miles of hiking with the cloth at front worn through. However none of the soles peeled off even with getting wet and drying repeatedly.

There are countless stream crossings on JMT, and I didn't even bother taking the shoes off as they dried in about 1 hour after getting wet. 

In addition to JMT, I also brought them to the rainy southern Appalachian mountains in winter. I ran with them on packed snow on the street a couple times in the midwest. I had them on some Class 3 hiking/climbing trips to Colorado 14ers in summer. I ran a half marathon, and now I am training for a full marathon with these shoes. No matter on rocks, mud, dirt or snow, they never let me down.

They are super comfy too. The one I brought to JMT is 10.5 in size, and it's a bit tight around my toes. My later pairs are 11 and my feet are quite happy with them.

And the color too, the red ones look so hot, totally the highlight of my hiking outfit.

I purchased these shoes 10 days prior to my first 100k in hopes that they would be broken in. I got in about 60 miles before the race but I never really felt like they needed it.

The course I ran was in Bandera, Texas, and if you've never run it before, all I can say is that there are nothing but rocks... and cactus. I train in Houston, where there are no rocks and was looking for something that could handle the abuse. I've been a big fan of the Hardrocks so seeing its demise was disappointing.

Not to worry because I think the Rockridge is a good substitute. There is a little more cushion than the Hardrocks. Excelent traction over rocks and easy transition to packed trail. Not much for traction on slippery rocks.

The only thing I didn't like was that the laces seemed a bit short. I like to tuck them back into the shoe but there is very little left after tying. 

I really like these Montrail Rockridge shoes. They fit me perfect. I am a size 10m.
The feel is great. Good trail shoes.

I wear a size 10 m shoe. My Montrail Rockridge trail running shoes fit perfect. They feel like they were made for me. I could not ask for a better fit.

I really like the way they feel. No problems with the comfort. No break-in need.

I wear inserts with most of my shoes. With my Montrail Rockridge shoes I have no need for extra support.

No problem with traction. These shoes are made well.

Unbelievably tough, for a lightweight running shoe! Very comfortable.

Hands down one of the best trail runners I've owned, and I've owned a lot. Unfortunately they were a little too narrow for my husband. My feet are too wide for most women's shoes, so I wear a 9 Men's in these, and they fit me perfectly. If I described how abrasive and long the adventures these shoes have survived, you would think I was making it up.

Still a great shoe.

This is still a great trail running shoe. It's not high tech, but pretty durable with good traction. It's true to size and comfortable. It is also pretty stable on the trail with good forefoot plant and up front cushioning. 

I think this shoe is being closed out, so you can pick up at good price. Makes for a good daily trainer.

I bought these Rockridges about 2 months ago to replace my Hardrock, which I had for couple years and loved. I have worn the Rockridge on and off since, but nothing over the top.

I can say that I am very disappointed about their durability. I have already worn through some of the bottom rubber. They are still very sticky, but I definitely will look for another type more similar to Hardrock.
