This is just one of those really functional, very straightforward jackets. It does everything it's designed to do and more.

The Light Shell has become my everything jacket. I've worn it under my Goretex jacket sking on really cold days as a middle layer, I've worn it mountain biking on cold days, I've worn it hiking to the top of Torreys Peak (14er), and just about everywhere eles including cruising the street on my day to day activities. The Light Shell is basically a wind jacket with a wicking mirofleece lining that traps air, keeping you warm and wicking moisture away from your skin.

The sleeves are cut long enough for active use, over all fit is excellant - It does not restrict my movememnt in any way. I'm about 5' 11'' and 170 pounds and I wear the large.

It has microfleece side strecth pannels that help regulate heat and provide some stretch through the body.

One chest pocket, but its big enough for a good wool hat, a energy bar and personal items.

So far I have been very pleased with my Light Shell Jacket. I give it no special treatment and it has held up extreamly well. I would recommend this jacket to anybody.

The Light shell blocks the stiffest wind, is very warm, very compact, really warm, and deals with light precipitation very well.

This jacket is one of those "can't imagine my life without it" jackets. It is a great transitional piece -- warm enough to wear on a spring-skiing day with a thicker first-layer, and light enough to wear in the evening as a light summer jacket. It also makes a fantastic inner-layer on those colder mountain days. It fits beautifully, and everytime I wear it, someone stops me to ask where I got it. This is an essential piece for anyone who is active outdoors.

Wow, what a great jacket. I have gone running numerous times in this jacket and blows away the Marmot DriClime. It is much lighter and much more breathable. But it still blocks the wind. A great pick up for anyone who is active. Can be purchased through Mont-bell in Boulder, CO. Great staff too.
