- The polyurethane coating off-gasses over time. Tarp has to be stored hung, or loose.
I have the Mountain Equipment Co-op 10'x7' polyurethane version of this tarp. All the same features as the silicone version, but different polyurethane coating. I used it only for car camping.
I bought my tarp in the late nineties.
Background
I started backpacking and wild camping in the early seventies.
