Magellan eXplorist 400

photo: Magellan eXplorist 400 handheld gps receiver

I originally purchased the eXplorist 400 in green way back in 2006. I have used it extensively. Even at this time, I still use it.

It has traveled many a mile and some of it - WET. Ultimately, the eXplorist has proven to be reliable, lasted a long time on the battery life, and even taking a beating while keeping on tracking.

The negative to this unit is that sometimes in dense foliage or mountainous ravines, it loses track easier and takes longer to re-acquire.

For now I will continue to use it until I come across a lighter more precise unit.
