Lowe Alpine Klettersack 30
A rugged simple day pack/climbing pack with enough heavy duty side lugs to tie on more capacity to make up for its smaller size. I've used it for a spring/summer ski-pack with success: It's narrow and doesn't interfere with skiing. skis can be carried on the side lugs, but unless the skis are pulled forward at the top by tying onto the hoisting strap the tails of the skis will interfere with your calves when hiking.

Probably one of the best packs out there. Just about the right size for everyday use, picnics, hiking, fishing, overnighters, carrying books to classes. I get more use out of this pack than any other pack I own. If you can find one, grab it, super comfortable even without a frame. Who knows maybe Lowe will start making them again, they're so handy. Mine's in my truck with a shell, fleece, and a change of clothes.

This pack is very comfortable for short 6 mile trips up mountains and stuff like that. The one drawback is that it doesn't have a padded hipbelt. The great thing is that it has a lot of lash points to put more gear outside. I've put a sleeping bag, air mattress, and there are still up to three more spots to put more gear.
