Leki Corklite Antishock
Awesome poles, locks work great, anti-shock system very effective.
Pros
- Lightweight, strong poles
- Anti-shock system works
- Slightly angled grips very ergonomic
- Strap lock is fast and strong
Just switched over to these Leki Corklite Antishock trekking poles for daily hikes on the two-lane country (asphalt) roads that surround our land. The anti-shock system works exceptionally well, there is a light spongy feeling when you plant a pole, but the anti-shock doesn't seem to ever bottom out. It must offer progressive resistance or has a buffer at the bottom of the stroke, but however its anti-shock piston works, it works very well.
The lever style upper locks hold securely and I've never had one slip. The lower twist style locks are integrated into anti-shock system and hold fast when you twist them properly. According to Leki the twist style locks are significantly stronger than the lever style. The lever style locks are quicker to adjust than the twist style, but are not as strong. That said, they've never slipped.
The grips and straps are excellent and the strap adjustment system used by Leki is excellent. Not only is it fast and easy to adjust the straps, but it holds them in place when they are set. I've not seen another system like this, it's simple, it's excellent.
