Cons

Firstly, this is a small, lightweight, all metal torch. Because it is so lightweight and small the battery is small (2.6Whr) but it has more than sufficient capacity for an overnight camp—3hr/15hr battery life—on each of two intensity settings—420/20 lumens brightness. You recharge by a USB cradle.
The torch itself is brilliant. It has a wonderful focusable beam from spot to moderate flood. On max brightness I believe this brilliance and range of this beam is unsurpassed in this weight class. On the high intensity power with the spot focus you can see illumination 400m away!
It weighs exactly the same as the Goal Zero Micro torch which has three times the battery size 9.4Whr, but is all plastic in contrast to the all metal construction of the P5R. By comparison the Goal Zero beam is crap with little reach and is unadjustable in either brightness or beam width.
An amazing thing about the P5R is the uniformity of the light within the beam. I cannot detect any brightness variation within the beam. On the "flood" setting the beam is uniform and circular. On the spot setting the beam is uniform and square which is the image of the light emitting LED - it is square in shape.
Charge time is just a few hours. Use is trivial—no need for manual. IPX4 is shower/rain proof.
The seven-year warranty tells you the manufacturer has many years of faith in this incredibly robust device.
The Ledlenser comes with a lightweight belt holster—see photo above.
This is a relatively expensive BRILLIANT piece of kit for overnight camping or, with surgery on the charging cradle, for multi-day hikes. It comes with a lanyard which allows easy attachment to the ceiling/clothesline of a tent to provide a tent light.
Just noticed that on the charging bracket you can turn the magnetic charging head and simply remove it for the long holder. This is much more convenient for camping: reduced weight and bulk. The torch now gets 5 stars!
Highly highly recommended.
