I did pay full price for this light and it’s been used a ton. It’s actually had more use at home than on the trail in the last 12 months with a new bulb in the house it’s been a great night light. At 117 grams, 170 lumens and a burn time of 54 hrs, it is negligible to carry or wear and has enough go for a multi-day adventure without the need for extra batteries.

It has a zoom function on the front that can send the beam from wide angle to a range of 180m. There is a power adjustment on the battery case at the rear of the headband. I usually run it on a wide spread at its minimal setting, which is more than bright enough for camping activities. Doing this also means it doesn’t take as long for my eyes to adjust once I turn it off.

A mate recently asked to borrow it to see how good it was. I didn’t get it back for three weeks he loved it that much. He’s planning to do the Tassie great walk so wanted something to go the distance.

If you’re planning to get wet a lot it mightn’t be the light for you. And there are plenty of weather/waterproof lights out there. I purchased this lamp with weight, burn time, ease of use, light range, and price in mind. There is a rechargeable option available and the larger multi-function H14; with 230 lumens it’s a beast and comes with a serious price tag.
