Joe Brown Climbing Helmet
Joe Brown Helmets - have passed the question of durability - 30 yr+
Good quality!
Very durable!
Easy to inspect!
Since helmets don't get cleaned with anything other than mild soap and water, that too might send a signal on when to change them out.
Bought a few, "back when" and have done well with them. They get stowed out of sunlight as much as possible but, have spent many a day clipped on to a backpack enroute to a climb. Back at the car, a terry cloth towel folded in half and machine sewn up the sides - plop in the helmet and it stays clean and out of the sun (like a rope, doesn't get stuffed into a hot trunk or tossed on the rear deck).
Price Paid: $45 USD approx.
