Hi-Tec Black Leather Boots
The Black Leather Boots has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best backpacking boots for 2024.
These boots are crap. Despite their looks, and comfort (the two main factors contributing to my purchase), they turned out to be very poorly manufactured. After 3 or 4 days backpacking on the Torres Del Paine circuit in Chile, they succumbed to the wet conditions and began to allow my feet to get wet - not a problem really. However, one day after the boots had been good and wet (leaving them to dry didn't help much) a lace-rivet fell out. Another one loosened up, and then on the last day of the trip a 3rd one fell out. In addition, the one of the boots laces got its first layer ripped, so that it slid down over a lower one and collected in a kind of thick bunch leaving about a foot-long section of narrow lace exposed. I don't know how Hi-Tec customer support is however, as I have still not gotten around to sending them back. But for a hiking boot that will last you more than a couple of days look elsewhere.
