Excellent design and material allows this splash guard to fit a wide variety of wide mouth bottle sizes and brands.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • FDA approved food grade silicone
  • BPA free
  • variety of colors and designs
  • Able to boil

Cons

  • Can slip down into the bottle

I have used a 32oz. widemouth Nalgene bottle for several years with a Nalgene brand splash guard in its top. I recently bought a 48oz. wide mouth Nalgene and discovered that my splash guard did not fit the 48oz. so I went on the hunt for a splash guard that would fit.

When I came across the splash guard by Guyot Designs, I was very happy. This Splash Guard not only fits the 48oz. wide-mouth Nalgene, but due to its flexible silicone design, it also fits the 32oz. Nalgene as well as a variety of other wide-mouth bottles (I have not tested it in bottles other than Nalgene, but have seen them used in other brand bottles).

The Guyot Designs splash guard is FDA approved food grade silicone that can be boiled to disinfect and clean (which is helpful after a long camping trip). It is also BPA free which is a plus! It is very lightweight at .3oz (8.5g)

This product slips easily into place at the top of the bottle and will sit flush with the rim. I love having these in the top of a wide-mouth bottle because it makes them easier to drink out of while moving, and it will keep ice and water from splashing into your face.

The water flow in this splash guard is very smooth and makes for a pleasant and easy drinking experience.

I have two of these. I put them in my 3L Nalgene collapsible canteens. They make it a lot easier to pour when you are only able to use one hand on the canteen due to the flexibility of them (less spillage of clean or filtered water). For the price you can't beat them.
