GSI Outdoors Microlite 500 Flip
We loved the first one so much that wife made me buy her one.
Pros
- Available in multiple sizes
- Locking lid
- Comes apart for cleaning
- Locks for traveling
- Nice size for backpack or car console
- Same container as the GSI Twist so you can change tops if you'd like.
- I'll often find it still has unmelted ice inside after filling it 18 hrs before.
Cons
- Dentable
- Lid could break if dropped.
This purchase started as a travel mug for me for coffee. I soon found myself using it along with a hydration bladder for hiking. I'd carry just water in one and something like Gatorade in the Microlite when hiking. Then my other half noticed I constantly was using the GSI bottle almost every day for something.
It can keep drinks hot for 12 hours and cold for 24 hours. I have water or a drink in mine almost constantly. It gets a break for cleaning every few days. Fits car cupholders when on trips and slides easily into the bottle pouches on my backpacks. I've thought about buying the larger one but the 500 is near perfect.
Just by chance the red one matches my Lowe backpack.
Background
I've lived in TX and NC so I know about keeping items cold outside when the weather is hot. Used them when traveling to the Carolina beaches this summer.
