Garmont Trekker
The Trekker has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best backpacking boots for 2024.
GARMONT MAKES AWESOME BOOTS!! I have narrow, strangely shaped feet, and Garmont really saved my ass. I tried on almost every boot out there and the Ultimas (Garmont) and trekkers were the only ones that fit. They seem to run narrow, which was good for me, but they have so many features that seem to just make sense, like the roller-bearing lacing system, the goofy-looking angled lace pattern, and the extended toe box. Hard to find, but if you have narrow or strange feet, take the time to check this brand out.

I wrote a review of these boots earlier. Please disregard it. That was before I took them out on a serious hike and found out they were not waterproof. Not even close. I liked everything else; the fit, the look, the flexibility. But they leaked all over. The manufacturer is sending me a new pair, but by the time it takes me to break them and my superfeet in I should be well into a trip. I am not a happy camper. I'll tell you how the second pair turns out.
