FlipFuel Fuel Transfer Device
Problem solver for all users of isobutane gas canister stoves. Simple, lightweight device that allows partially emptied canister gas to be consolidated. Affordable and quick solution to a chronic issue.
Pros
- Solves the common problem of having too many partially empty isobutane gas canisters
- Easy to use
- Transfers occur quickly
Cons
- None
Any user of isobutane gas canisters (MSR, JetBoil, Snow Peak, etc) inevitably finds themselves dealing with canisters that have various amounts of fuel remaining in them. Each trip one has to decide whether to pack new or used (or some combination) canisters. Frequently I take a new canister on a trip (especially a multiday trip) rather than the partially used one. This typically leads to an accumulation of mostly empty canisters sitting around.
The FlipFuel Fuel Transfer Device solves this dilemma. With just a bit of time and attention to the simple process, users can transfer remnant gas from the donor canister to another (as long as there's space in the recipient canister). Thus the emptied canisters are free to be recycled.
The process is to cool/freeze the receiving canister, warm the sending canister (in the sun or even to room temp), connect the two canisters using the device, open the valve on the device to allow gas transfer, close valve when complete, remove device. Voila
The standard fitting on isobutane canisters allows for transfers across brands.
Got mine online from the manufacturer in Arizona.
Background
I have had one of these devices for about 6 months. I have been able to eliminate unneeded canisters altogether. Wonderful!
