Never used another filter.
Been using several for 30 years. It's only good for about 100 gallons and is difficult to pump when nearing the end of its life expectancy. I don't think I've ever cleaned mine, but I've only filtered clear water from Rocky Mountain and Appalachian streams. Have never gotten sick from drinking water it filtered.
Can pump a quart in several minutes.
The hoses it comes with are short. I used a piece of surgical tubing in place of one hose.
