Exped SynMat 7 Pump DLX

The SynMat 7 Pump DLX has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best air-filled sleeping pads for 2025.

I was out to purchase a sleeping pad and had a Thermarest ProLite 4 in mind. One of the staff at my gear store suggested the Synmat, and I'm glad he did! This pad slept more comfortably than I ever dreamed of. It is a tad on the heavy side, but worth every ounce. I slept soundly throughout the night, something I seldom do on the trail.
I've only used it once, so I can't speak for its durability, but it seems to be well built. The built in pump for inflating is a great feature as well. I'd recommend this pad to anyone who thinks a great nights sleep is worth a few more ounces.

After suffering through too many nights on our Ozarks rocks, I finally decided to break down and get a mat. I really wanted something that was compact, and the Exped mat fit the bill.
I'm a big guy, so I needed the extra size of the DLX. I was afraid that this would end up being like an air mattress I have uncomfortably slept on when visiting my parents, but this was so comfortable that I will probably bring it with me next time I visit.
This was a little more expensive than the other brands, but after owning it I would replace it with the same thing in a heartbeat. 2 thumbs up!
