This comfortable pad compresses compactly, though with a bit of effort. I use the self-adhesive velcro straps from another sleeping pad to help compress it to fit in its stuff sack. It inflates much, much easier than it deflates. It took me several tries to master this before a backpacking trip. Otherwise, it is a highly comfortable pad that insulates well.

Since I am very tall (over 6 feet), I had to use my closed-cell foam sitting pad to augment the length so that my feet would not be cold (the pad is only 5 feet 10 inches long). On summer backpacking trips, this pad is fine - but taller people are better off with larger, longer pads on colder weather trips. For backpacking, it compresses small enough to fit in a sleeping bag compartment though it is not the lightest pad you can get.

Very, very sturdy reliable pad. The manufacturer claims to put it through rigorous stress tests (running over inflated pads with vehicles). Definitely worth the money if comfort is important. Just be sure to practice deflating it before a trip so that you're not wasting precious vacation time.
