I was sent a pair of ExOfficio Sol Cool boxer briefs in late January for testing and review. I actually tried to wear them during the winter but found that they were just too cool for comfort at that time of the year.
Once things started to warm up I gave them a thorough workout. Comprised of 52% Cotton, 42% Nylon, 6% Spandex, the nylon has been infused with Jade, yes, Jade the rock. Apparently, the Jade pulls moisture off of the skin leaving you feeling cooler.
Does it work? You bet. I was amazed at the difference the briefs made compared to ExOfficio Give-N-Go Briefs. I would say they dropped my skin temperature by 4-5 degrees and they were really comfortable. A one-inch waistband keeps the boxer briefs fitting well, though I immediately had to cut off the product tags which I found very annoying.
The cotton and nylon give the briefs that classic soft underwear feel and the spandex does a great job of providing a great fit. The leg and rear fit worked really well on my rather slim frame, very comfortable and the flat double seams allowed them to disappear under shorts and pants.
Personally, I wish they were available in 6-inch length in addition to the 4-inch, as I prefer a longer leg length. The briefs are holding up very well after repeated trips through the washer and dryer. They still fit like new, plenty of stretch left.
The Sol Cool Boxer Brief is available in White, Navy, Carbon, and Black in sizes small to 2Xlarge and is priced at $38.
